How to Get Here
To get to Stranraer, please follow the directions below:
Parking for the half marathon will be sign posted, but to assist you please follow the directions below:
- A77 from Ayr / Glasgow
As you enter the perimeter of Stranraer, please take the 2nd road on the left onto Ladies Walk, then take the 1st road on the left onto Bayview Road, at the mini roundabout (1st right) turn right onto Cairnport Road, the Car Parking is straight ahead behind Stranraer Academy. - A75 from Newton Stewart/Dumfries
As you enter the perimeter of Stranraer, please take the 2nd (main) road on the right onto Ladies Walk, after the school (on the right) take the 1st road on the right onto Bayview Road, at the mini roundabout (1st right) turn right onto Cairnport Road, the Car Parking is straight ahead behind Stranraer Academy.
Please beware, occasionally, the traffic driving to the parking area will be temporarily stopped as the junior races get underway and run around their routes. As I am sure you will appreciate this is for health and safety reasons and to ensure the safety of the runners. Many thanks in advance for your co-operation.
Discounted ferry crossings for day return foot passengers, travelling with vehicles and staying overnight are available for athletes competing in the Stranraer Half Marathon Plus Junior Runs.

Stage Coach is once again sponsoring the Stranraer Half Marathon Plus Junior Runs.
Buses will be provided from the Stena Line / Train Station / P&0 Terminals at 9.30am to Stranraer Academy Athletics Track. - Buses will depart Stranraer Academy at approximately 1.45pm to Stena Line and Stranraer Train Station.
